PTEC provides a unique ‘live’ setting for tidal turbine manufacturers to enhance their technology while supplying the grid – which will help drive understanding and efficiency within the industry and accelerate its growth.

The company behind PTEC is Perpetuus Tidal Energy Centre Ltd; a consortium which includes:

Royal HaskoningDHV

Royal HaskoningDHV, an international engineering and environmental consultancy, was appointed to undertake the environmental impact assessment (EIA) and to gain consents for PTEC. The team will continue to work on the PTEC project, responsible for consent management and compliance.

Royal HaskoningDHV has global experience of working on surveys, environmental impact assessments and drawing up engineering and design specifications for renewable energy projects. Their consultants have gained consent for many of the world’s leading tidal and wave energy projects at locations across the UK.

IT Power

The renewable energy engineering and project design company, IT Power, was contracted by Royal HaskoningDHV to undertake front end engineering design (FEED) studies for for PTEC’s core infrastructure. IT Power will continue to work on the PTEC project, responsible for the contract and engineering design management of PTEC’s core infrastructure and its integration with the power generation arrays.
